This is a 2001 Niue Pokémon series Pikachu coin. It's a 1 dollar nickel coin. It has been NGC graded and received an MS69 rating. MS coins are easily damaged, and as of March 2026, there is only one MS69 coin, the highest possible grade and Top Pop. (Regardless of whether it's a banknote or not, the single 69 graded coin has remained unchanged for approximately two years.) Furthermore, unlike the usual coin slab case format, this coin was graded by NGC in its entire original case, similar in size and shape to the PMG (Personal Magnet Grading) system used for banknotes. We have been informed by the grading company that this is the only Pokémon Pikachu nickel coin to have been graded in this PMG-style manner. The NGC certification photo clearly shows the entire case being graded. Given its Top Pop rating and the fact that it was graded entirely, it has the potential to have the value of a rare Pokémon card. 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, and it's likely to be a year when Pokémon-related collectible items will receive even more attention.
